New Docking Area
As has been mentioned in the past, finding areas with docks is a hit-or-miss exercise. They seem to exist at unlikely locations, not necessarily where one would expect, and not consistently with locations on charts. This makes it somewhat difficult to teach local knowledge-type activities except at a high level which is to be expected when the people developing the sceneries are typically located in foreign countries.
I do periodically go on hunts for docks of different types that can be used in docking exercises. Today I got lucky and found a dock that exists inside a breakwall. It is very interesting to teach the approach and exit of such sheltered areas which often make use of what can appear to be a hidden channel or maze type entrance. Requires some attention to detail. I found if you turn up the wind the waves and wind calm down once you enter the breakwall area as would be expected
It is available here and the zip file includes instructions for installing this situation. Now back to hunting…
